Disclaimer and Terms of Use

RecoveryOne, version 1 (proof of concept) · disclaimer version 2026-08-29 · InSync Tech (Vox Ordo) · hello@voxordo.io
Read this before you buy, and again before you boot a machine from the stick. By purchasing, downloading, writing, or booting RecoveryOne ("the Software") you agree to everything on this page. If you do not agree, do not buy it, and do not use it.

1. What you are buying

A single bootable disk image (a file you download once, then write to a USB drive you own) for $9, one time. It is version 1, sold expressly as a proof of concept. There is no subscription and no recurring charge for this product. You are buying the current version with the limits stated on the product page; any later version is a separate decision by us and is not promised.

2. It can only do what it has been proven to do

The Software has been tested, end to end and offline, on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 for a fixed list of failure scenarios (a boot loop from a custom start-up rule; a missing disk in fstab; SSH keys refused by permissions; a locked root password; a full disk; an encrypted or LVM volume that will not open; a system folder overwritten by a backup tool). It has not been tested on anything else. It does not repair GRUB or EFI boot loaders, does not rebuild RAID, does not recover deleted files, and does not work on macOS or Windows. Other Linux distributions, other versions, unusual hardware, and unusual disk layouts are outside what it has proven; the Software is designed to stop and say so, but you accept that it may not recognise every case.

3. The AI can be wrong

The Software includes a small language model that runs on the machine being repaired. It reads evidence, proposes a diagnosis, and explains what it sees. It is a diagnostic aid, not an authority. Its diagnosis may be incomplete or incorrect. It never executes anything on its own: a person confirms every step, and that person is you. You are responsible for every action you confirm.

4. Back up first. The USB drive is erased.

5. Offline by design; you keep the machine safe

Version 1 brings no network up and runs no network services; a firewall layer is planned for version 1.1. Physical access to a machine booted from the stick is full access to that machine's disks. Do not leave a machine booted from the stick unattended where others can reach it, and keep the stick somewhere safe.

6. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR ANY PARTICULAR FAILURE, THAT IT WILL WORK ON YOUR HARDWARE OR OPERATING SYSTEM, THAT IT IS ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA WILL BE PRESERVED OR RECOVERED.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INSYNC TECH, VOX ORDO, AND THEIR OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT ($9). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places the limitations apply to the fullest extent the law allows.

8. Your responsibilities

9. Licence

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download, write, and use the Software on machines you own or are authorised to repair. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the image or the download link. The download link is tied to your purchase and must not be shared. Third-party components inside the image remain under their own licences, which are included in the image.

10. Support and contact

This is a version 1 proof of concept sold by a small team. We answer questions at hello@voxordo.io from the email address you bought with, but support is not guaranteed and no response time is promised.

11. Changes

We may update this disclaimer for future versions. The version you accepted at purchase (recorded with your order) is the one that applies to that purchase.

Accepted at checkout: your acceptance of this disclaimer (version 2026-08-29) is recorded with the time and your order, and restated in your delivery email.
